Yark Automotive




Founded in 1981 by brothers Jim and John Yark, Yark Automotive Group has been a part of our community for over 40 years. We focus on doing the right thing every time. That is why we've been able to serve you for decades.

From the beginning, we had our sights set on growing a reliable and family-oriented automotive empire that will faithfully deliver the vehicles you need most. After purchasing Papenhagen Oldsmobile, we were awarded a Jeep Franchise, and in 1986, we obtained BMW and Subaru franchises. We continued to grow, and became the NW Ohio & SE Michigan Sales Leader for the first time in 1995.

The journey didn't stop there. Throughout the '90s and early 2000s, we continued growing our business. We obtained a Nissan franchise, won Toledo's Best Place to Buy a Car award, obtained Chrysler and Chevrolet franchises, and in 2006, Jim Yark was awarded the regional winner of TIME Magazine's Quality Dealer of the Year Award.

After obtaining a few more notable franchises, such as Dodge, FIAT, Toyota, Mazda, and Ford, Yark Automotive Group continues to grow. And in 2019, John Yark was also awarded the regional winner of TIME Magazine's Dealer of the Year Award.

Excellence is part of what makes Yark Automotive Group special. And we plan to continue this upper momentum for years to come.




1981

Jim Yark purchases Papenhagen Oldsmobile from Ted Papenhagen and Yark Automotive Group is founded.


The Yark brothers, Jim and John, begin work growing Yark Automotive Group


Yark is awarded Jeep Franchise

1986

Yark purchases Classic Auto World on Secor Ave.

Yark obtains BMW and Subaru franchises.

1988

Yark opens Central Used Car Savings Center on Central Ave.

1995

Yark Automotive is NW Ohio & SE Michigan Sales Leader for the first time, and maintains title today.

1998

Yark purchases Autofair Nissan Yark obtains Nissan.

BMW of Toledo earns BMW Center of Excellence award.

1999

Yark Nissan relocates to 5957 W Central Ave.

BMW of Toledo earns BMW Center of Excellence award.

2000

Yark wins Toledo's "Best Place to Buy a Car" and maintains title today.

2000-2003

BMW of Toledo earns BMW Center of Excellence award.


2004

Yark purchases Valiton Chrysler on Monroe St. Yark obtains Chrysler franchise.

2005

Yark Subaru relocates to 6000 W Central Ave.

Yark relocates Chrysler to Yark Jeep on Central Ave.

2006

Yark purchases Don Scott Chevrolet in Whitehouse Yark obtains Chevrolet franchise.

Jim Yark is the regional winner of TIME Magazine's Quality Dealer of the Year Award.

2008

BMW of Toledo earns BMW Center of Excellence award.


2009

Yark is awarded Dodge franchise.

2010

Yark Nissan builds new facility.

2011

Yark is awarded Fiat franchise.

Yark Subaru relocates to 6141 W Central Ave.

2013

Yark is a Top Workplace in Toledo for the first time, and maintains title today.

2014

Yark Wholesale Parts relocates to 7836 W Central Ave.

2015

Yark purchases Rouen Toyota Scion in Maumee Yark obtains Toyota franchise.

2016

Yark Subaru is named #1 Dealership to Work For by Automotive News.

Yark CJDR wins FCA Customer First Award for the first time.

2017

Yark Used Cars relocates to 6055 W Central Ave.

Yark Buy Center opens on Central Ave.

BMW of Toledo relocates to 7600 W Central Ave.

2018

Yark Collision Center relocates to 6111 Fantasy Dr.

BMW of Toledo earns BMW Center of Excellence award.

2019

John Yark is the regional winner of TIME Magazine's Dealer of the Year Award.

BMW of Toledo earns BMW Center of Excellence award.

2020

Yark purchases Brown Mazda and relocates to 6000 W Central Ave.

Yark obtains Mazda.

Yark Chevrolet relocates to Perrysburg.

BMW of Toledo earns BMW Center of Excellence award.

2021

Yark purchases Kistler Ford at 5555 W Central Ave.

Yark obtains Ford franchise.

2022

Yark Mazda builds new facility
